Diane is a Registered Psychotherapist in Owen Sound, Ontario. Diane has been counselling and providing therapy to couples and individuals for years in Calgary, Alberta and most recently, in Owen Sound since moving here in 2016.
Diane has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario and her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. Diane has formal training in many areas such as Sex Therapy, Couples and Marital Therapy, Trauma and working with the Brain, CEN, Grief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Her experience includes, but is not limited to, helping couples through infidelity, communication difficulties, life transitions, working in business together, second marriages, sandwich generation difficulties, polyamory, and illness.
Her couples' work is influenced by Esther Perel, Drs. Bayder & Pearson, Drs. Gottman & Gottman, Dr. Jonice Webb, Terry Real and Dr. Tomm.
Diane is a graduate of the year long program of the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. She has specific training in dealing with Childhood Emotional Neglect (CEN) and ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences), and she is a Level I graduate from the Institute for Relational Intimacy in "Assessing & Treating Sex Issues in Psychotherapy".
She has worked extensively with couples from many cultures and backgrounds including those in the LGBQT community. She has done extensive work with couples dealing with step- and blended families as well as polyamourous or open relationships, BDSM or other non-traditional relationship modalaties.
Diane is also a published author.
Diane is a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario She is available to provide counselling therapy in Owen Sound and online therapy to all Canadians (some limitations).
